Therapy for Teenagers

12 YEARS OLD - 17 YEARS OLD

Everyone deserves an independent and safe place to process all the intense ups and downs of growing up. A non-parent resource to confide in can make all the difference in the world.

Please note that written consent must be provided by all custodial parents or guardians in order for the teen to participate in therapy.  A discussion with all parties will be initiated at the beginning of therapy to outline the agreed upon confidentiality arrangement between teen and parent(s).

Sessions are provided in person or through telepsychology.

What To Expect

In-Person Sessions

Welcome!

We’ve got a parking lot along the side streets of our building for you to use.

We try our best to begin on time, so you should not need to wait long!

You will be greeted in the waiting room and brought to a private office with a comfy couch and chair. We want you to feel comfortable and right at home!

Your first session will begin with a review of the informed consent documentation. You will also be invited to share what brought you to Strathearn Psychology.

Don’t feel like you need to come prepared with what to discuss; we can help you with that. Following the session, you will be given an opportunity to rebook if you would like to return for another session.

We hope your experience with Strathearn Psychology is as comfortable and healing as possible.

Online Sessions

Since 2020, some of our sessions have been online!

Once you schedule an appointment, all you need to do is keep an eye on your email. When your appointment date arrives, just set up a quiet place in your home and prepare your computer.

To log into your online session, use our client portal and connect when it’s the time of your scheduled appointment.

Please bring a cup of tea, coffee, a furry family member, or whatever else might make you feel comfortable.

We are looking forward to connecting with you online!

If you have further questions or concerns, please find a more in-depth description of our telepsychology sessions here!
